Judge sentences Silava to five years

RIGA – The judge in the Latvian Models Association drug smuggling case dismissed Daira Silava's claim that a man with Russian mob connections forced her to transport three bags of cocaine from Venezuela to Latvia and sentenced her to five years in prison.Silava closed her eyes as the verdict was announced at the main hall of Riga district court on June 17, while photographers snapped photos of her reaction."It is surprising the press pays so much attention to me now but not when I was busy with ...
