Oct 11, 2007
By Mike Collier

From 1 November 2007, Luxembourg will open its labour market for citizens of the EU member states which joined the European Union on 1 May 2004. According to a letter from Nicolas Schmit, Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Luxembourg, to Latvian Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks, the decision on lifting labour movement restrictions was made by the Government of Luxembourg on 3 October.

At present labour movement restrictions have been lifted by Ireland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Greece, Portugal, Finland, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and partially also by Belgium.
