Swiss risk warning to investors

VILNIUS - Lithuanian investors have been warned to be wary of a Swiss company touting for business in the country.

According to the Securities Commission, a Swiss company called Strategic Partners Portfolio Management AG has been attempting to contact potential investors despite having no licence to trade in Lithuania.

Strategic Partners Portfolio Management AG has reportedly been calling potential clients and offering its services over the phone.

The commission confirmed that the company has made no application for a licence to offer its services in Lithuania and that the commission had not even been able o ascertain whether it was registered with the approporiate Swiss regulatory authorities.

Investors are advised to treat any unsolicited approaches with extreme caution.
