Aug 22, 2007
By Mike Collier

SAAREMA - The mayors of all three Baltic capitals met on Saaremaa island Aug 15 and 16 to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The two-day meeting organized by the mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar is being treated as preparation for a pan-European conference of capital cities due to be held in Tallinn Sep 27-28.

The officials are planning to work out a joint position that the three Baltic capitals might support at the General Assembly of EU capitals later in the year.
