Polish, Lithuanian presidents talk cooperation

VILNIUS 's In a July 24 telephone conversation between President Valdas Adamkus and his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski, plans were hatched for an event this fall to discuss of bilateral relations for the next 10-20 years.

A statement issued by Adamkus' office said the event will take in the views of "Lithuanian and Polish political scientists, intellectuals and diplomats."

Other topics discussed by the two men included the current political crisis in Poland and moves to grant Polish and Lithuanian citizens visa-waiver status when visiting the United States.
