Irish low-cost airline Ryanair will launch flights from Riga to Shannon on Nov. 8, starting with two flights per week. Ryanair's manager Wilhelm Hamilton said that the flight will enable the company to carry 30,000 more passengers, increasing the total number of passengers to 950,000 per year. Currently, Ryanair serves eight routes from Riga, including Stockholm, London, Liverpool, Frankfurt, Bremen, Tampere, Dublin and Glasgow.

The Swedish electronics wholesaler ELFA has acquired 100 percent of the Estonian electronics distributor Tevalo. Tevalo, which served as the ELFA distributor in Estonia since 1998 and is operating through its subsidiaries on the Latvian, Lithuanian and Ukrainian markets, will be integrated into the concern by the end of this year, the firm said. Tevalo, established in 1990, has four retail outlets in Estonia and Latvia.
