Easter fires in Lithuania kill ten people

The latest incident in a string of deadly fires experienced by the Baltic states occurred in Lithuania over the Easter holidays. Five fires took the lives of 10 people, three of whom were children.
The largest of the fires happened on Sunday night in Jonava district, where three children were killed -- a two-year-old girl and two boys, aged four and five. The victims' brother, age seven, managed to escape the blaze.
Another fire occurred on Monday night in Sirvintai district, where four people were killed -- two men and two women. Police guess that the fire was caused by smoking.
In fires sprung on Monday, three more districts saw deadly fires-- Salcininkai, Silale and Kaisiadorys. One person was killed in each of the fires.
