Sexual minorities from London to participate in Riga Pride parade

RIGA 's Gay and lesbian rights groups from Riga and London have united forces to stage the annual gay pride parade in the Latvian capital on June 2.
Representatives of the sexual minorities organizations from both cities said they wanted to promote equality and tolerance in the two capital cities.
Representatives of Pride London are due to sign a statement on unity with Riga Pride, and on March 8 the organizations are expected to announce the partnership project.
Pride London chairman Paul Birrell said that the partnership of Riga and London is the first step to bringing this situation to an end and supporting the human rights of everyone in Europe to live in freedom without fear of violence and abuse.
I her turn, Kristine Garina, chair of Riga Pride said: "Riga Pride and Pride London hope that as many people as possible will travel from the UK to the beautiful city of Riga to help us celebrate our Pride festival from May 30 to June 2 and join the fledgling Pride parade on June 2."
