RIGA - After 50 years of Soviet-style retail, providing the populations of the Baltic states with a steady supply of consumer goods and a greater choice of foodstuffs was the main priority of the new market economy. Retail and the construction of retail facilities has since proven to be one of the driving forces of the growing Baltic economies.
