RIGA - Following a mass alcohol poisoning in the eastern Latvian county of Preili, state police have asked the country's residents to report home-made alcohol vendors. If they wish, people can call an anonymous hotline.
Over 50 people in Preili County have been hospitalized with alcohol poisoning after consuming illegal alcohol. They were diagnosed with toxic hepatitis and suffer from serious liver damage. Also, five people with similar symptoms have been found dead in their homes.
