Foreign Ministers of Latvia and Malta sign co-operation protocol

RIGA - At the UN General Assembly in New York on 21 Sept. 2006, Latvian Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks, signed a protocol of co-operation with the Foreign Minister of Malta Michael Frendo, thus providing for regular consultations to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and to exchange opinions on regional and international issues.
The consultations will cover political, economic, scientific, technology, culture and co-operation issues, especially those related to membership of Latvia and Malta in the European Union and participation in international forums.
It is envisaged to hold these consultations annually or upon request by Latvia or Malta in the capital cities of the respective countries, or during international conferences.
