Latvian ForMin to participate in meeting of Baltic and Nordic foreign ministers

RIGA - On 24-25 August 2006, Latvian Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks is scheduled to participate in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Nordic and Baltic states in Oslo, Norway. Minister Pabriks will brief his foreign colleagues on Latvia's co-operation with EU member states regarding the sharing of the embassy premises in third countries which provides an opportunity to send the Latvian diplomats to those countries where Latvia does not yet have its own embassies.
The agenda of the foreign ministers' meeting includes the current regional, EU and international issues. The foreign ministers will discuss the combating of human trafficking in the Baltic Sea Region, the priorities of the EU Presidency of Finland, co-operation with the EU neighbouring countries - Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia, as well as the situation in the Middle East and the UN issues.
