Four escaped convicts detained on the Lithuanian-Polish border

RIGA - Border guards on the Lithuanian-Polish border have detained all four inmates who escaped from the Riga Central Prison Wednesday [Aug. 9] night, Latvia's LNT commercial television reported.
In an interview to LNT program "900 Seconds" Latvian Interior Minister Dzintars Jaundzeikars said that the detainees are currently being identified.
Latvian State Police representative Sintija Kajina said the detained convicts are currently being held by Lithuanian law enforcement authorities. On Saturday or early next week at the latest, the detainees are due to be convoyed to Latvia, where they would be handed over to the Prison Administration.
