Lithuania's Foreign Ministry protested Russia's refusal to issue visas to a group of Lithuanians who had planned to go to Siberia to decorate exiles' graves, a ministry official told BNS.

Lithuania had warned Russia it would refuse visas to Russian citizens if such a request was refused.
"The Foreign Ministry has intensively worked for several days to achieve that the Lithuanian youth expedition be issued Russian visas," the official said. "Russia refuses to provide official comments as to why they have not been issued visas."
