A petition with more than 1,000 signatures was sent to the Education Ministry and the Legal Chancellor complaining about Christian teaching in high school, according to a report in the Postimees.
Publisher and astronomer Martin Vallik collected 1,793 signatures on an Internet petition.
"The government should be among the foremost of those respecting the Constitution," he said. "So I expect the government to consistently observe also the constitutional articles on the freedom of religion and absence of a state church."
