Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus says he plans to keep a close eye on how EU funds will be spent in Lithuania.
At his State of the Nation address on March 28, the president said "it was sad to watch" the ruling coalition partners "jostling" for the funds.
"When consideration of the allotment and use of billions and arguments for making decisions are hidden from the public, it is normal that there are more and more doubts about the transparency of those decisions," Adamkus said.
