By TBT staff

RIGA - Latvian Interior Minister Dzintars Jaundzeikars will present three boarder guards with private pilot licenses on Thursday, including a woman, the Latvian National Border Guard said.

The new pilots represent the aviation service of the regional border guard unit in Ludza, eastern Latvia.

In order to receive this honor, the pilots completed a seven-month course in a Schengen Facility training program. Seven other border guards are scheduled to participate in the training course next year, bringing Latvia's pilot count to 13.
