Missing girl becomes pawn in diplomatic chess match

VILNIUS - Two weeks ago L.Svilainyte came home from work during lunch and found a note from her common-law husband, U.S. citizen J. Geddes Douglas, that said he had taken their 5-year-old daughter to spend some time at a lake near Vilnius. She hasn't seen either of them since.
She believes that Douglas abducted their daughter and is now hiding with her in the United States.
