Baltic Waves Radio to begin broadcasting

VILNIUS (BNS) - The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission voted, unanimously, to grant a broadcasting license to the Baltic Waves Radio project. The license is valid until the end of 2000 and allows broadcasting radio programs from Vilnius in Belarusian, Russian, Polish and other languages of Lithu-ania's ethnic minorities, said MP Rimantas Pleikys, a founder of the independent radio station.The Belarusian administration in Minsk had protested the station's plans to air programs for Belar ...
