RIGA - As the first few bars of Strauss' Beautiful Blue Danube filled the all-white ballroom in Rundale Castle July 8, Latvia's new and popular president, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, made her way to the floor to lead the waltz with her husband, Professor Imants Freibergs.
