VILNIUS – As the European Union has recently adopted the so-called European Magnitsky Act, the politicians who initiated it have on Tuesday called for the expansion of the sanctions and inclusion of corruption crimes.
"The EU only sanctions human rights abusers, does not sanction kleptocrats. That needs to change. There needs to be an amendment to the EU Magnitsky Act which will sanction kleptocrats as well," political activist William Browder told a press conference at the Lithuanian parliament, the Seimas, on Tuesday.
