Lithuania to abolish litas denominated postal stamps by early 2017

The Lithuanian postal service, Lietuvos Pastas, has confirmed that postage stamps featuring the symbol of the old litas currency will be invalid as of the start of 2017, when euro denominated stamps will only be accepted.  Lithuania transferred from litas to the euro on January 1, 2015. Residents who still have post stamps with their value indicated in litas are recommended to use them by the end of 2016.
