Lithuania posts EU's largest decrease in population for 2015 - Eurostat

Lithuania's population dropped in 2015 at the fastest pace in the European Union, figures from the EU statistical office Eurostat indicate. Lithuania's population was nearly 2.887 million at the beginning of this year, 32,700 fewer people compared with a year earlier. The population change per 1,000 residents was -11.3, the largest decline among EU member nations. Latvia produced the second-largest drop (-8.7 per 1,000 residents), followed by Croatia (-8.2).
