Lithuania: Transfer of Danske Bank's retail banking clients to Swedbank has begun

The transfer of Danske Bank's retail banking services in Lithuania to Swedbank, which started on Friday, is expected to be completed by Monday with Swedbank having taken over more than 86,000 customers. This will increase its loan portfolio by almost 500 million euros and bring its market share to 40 to 50 per cent. The transfer process was planned to begin at 8 p.m. Friday and be completed by 8 a.m. Monday, Danske Bank spokeswoman Vaida Bickute told BNS.
