RIGA - Latvian President Egils Levits has congratulated Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his reelection as Turkey's President.
"Congratulations to @RTErdogan on re-election as President of Turkiye! Looking forward to constructive cooperation for security and prosperity in Europe and beyond," Levits wrote on Twitter.
Erdogan beat secular opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu by four percentage points in Turkey's first presidential runoff last weekend. Erdogan received 52.14 percent and Kilicdaroglu 47.86 percent of the vote, according to preliminary results.
