Latvia is currently the world's 32nd most peaceful country and its situation is more peaceful than that of the two other Baltic States, according to the Global Peace Index 2016, drawn up by the Institute for Economics & Peace.
Among the 163 countries included in the study, Estonia has taken 36th and Lithuania 37th position. Last year, Latvia was in 33rd place, Estonia in 39th, and Lithuania in 35th place.
Latvia, like the other two Baltic States, is among countries scoring high on the Global Peace Index.
