Latvia bestows Cross of Recognition on Slovenian president

RIGA - The Chapter of Orders has decided to award the Cross of Recognition First Class to Slovenian President Borut Pahor and make him Commander of the Great Cross of the Order for his services to Latvia.

Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis is currently in Slovenia on a working visit. Today, he is scheduled to meet with Pahor to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, cooperation in the European Union, NATO and other international organizations, as well as regional cooperation in the context of the Three Seas initiative.

On Thursday, June 6, Vejonis will participate in the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Brdo, Slovenia, to provide political support for transnational and regional projects and thus contribute to shaping the united, secure, and competitive Europe.

The Three Seas Initiative unites 12 EU countries geographically located between the Adriatic, Baltic, and Black Seas that is Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Hungary.
