Latvia: Public sector still more attractive to residents than private sector

RIGA - According to a SKDS survey, the public sector is still more attractive to residents than the private sector.

This May, residents were asked which is more attractive job-wise - the private sector or public sector.

52.1 percent of residents stated that they see the public sector as more attractive than the private sector, which is approximately two percentage points less than the previous year.

Meanwhile, 30.2 percent of respondents said that they see the private sector as more attractive, which is also about two percentage points less than the previous year.

At the same time, 17.7 percent of respondents could not say which sector was more attractive job-wise.

Those participating in the survey were asked to consider salaries, safety at the workplace, the job environment and social guarantees when giving their answer.
