Latvia, Morocco see possibilities for expanding cooperation in education, culture, economy

RIGA - On February 15, the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Janis Mazeiks, welcomed a farewell visit from the Ambassador of Morocco to Latvia, Amina Bouayach, LETA learned from the ministry.

The officials expressed satisfaction at the friendly nature of bilateral relations between Latvia and Morocco and made note of possibilities for expanding them in education, culture and economy. The Political Director and the Ambassador welcomed the close and active cooperation between the European Union and Morocco, which also offers opportunities to deepen the bilateral Latvian-Moroccan cooperation.

Mazeiks congratulated the Ambassador on the decision made by Muhammad VI, King of Morocco, on December 6 last year to appoint her as Head of the National Human Rights Council of Morocco.

Bouayach was the Ambassador of Morocco to Latvia as from February 7, 2017. She resided in Stockholm, Sweden.
