Induced abortions continue to drop in Latvia

The number of induced abortions has continued to decline in Latvia, according to the statistics released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control. Last year, the number of induced abortions dropped by 449 from a year before to 3,917. Latvia recorded 4,802 induced abortions in 2015; 5,318 in 2014; 5,557 in 2013 and 6,197 in 2012. In 2009, for instance, 8,881 pregnancies were terminated with induced abortions in Latvia.
