Government will keep its promise not to raise taxes in 2017 - Latvian PM

The Latvian government has affirmed its resolve to avoid raising taxes as it develops next year’s budget, Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers) informed the media as he spoke about possible tax measures planned for 2017. "We continue to stand by our previous promises that there will be no tax hikes next year. We have to manage with the fiscal space and resources the ministries have found in their internal resources and the slight increase of our economy," the prime minister stated.
