Former MP Inese Laizane passes away

RIGA - Former Saeima member Inese Laizane of the National Alliance has passed away, representatives of the National Alliance informed LETA.

Laizane was a member of the 10th, 11th and 12th Saeima and a long-time member of the Daugavpils section of the National Alliance party. Laizane chaired the Saeima Human Rights and Public Affairs Committee. 

Besides her political career, Laizane was also an actress and from 2001 to 2009 served as director of the Daugavpils Theatre.
