Food poisoning outbreak among foreigners in Latvia's Kuldiga no public health threat

The ten visitors to Latvia, who last week were taken from Kuldiga in western Latvia to the regional hospital in Ventspils suffering nausea and vomiting, do not have any illness that could pose a threat to public health, the Latvian Disease Prevention and Control Centre announced. She said the health authority had taken samples for laboratory tests but it was already clear that the foreigners' sickness was related to food poisoning but did not indicate a threat to public health.
