KYIV - The Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine, Hugues Mingarelli, has urged the Ukrainian presidential candidates to demonstrate seriousness in their election debate and to inform voters about their policy.

Mingarelli told ENEMO observers, who had come to Ukraine to watch the runoff election, that he regretted the absence of a serious election debate.

He described the situation as a lack of respect for voters and said the debate must be serious and that people must be aware of the candidates' policies.

Information about the candidates' political guidelines is crucial to voters, he said.

As reported earlier, Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyr Zelensky will meet for election debate at the Kyiv Olimpiyskiy Stadium at 7 p.m. on April 19.
