Estonian, Polish ministers of culture and sport discuss fight against doping

TALLINN – Estonia's Minister of Culture Indrek Saar and Poland's Minister of Sport and Tourism Witold Banka discussed cooperation between the two countries in sports at their meeting in Tallinn on Thursday, focusing on the topic of fight against  doping.

"Poland has carried our several major reforms in the field of combating doping in recent years. Poland has evolved as an important  partner in this internationally. Close international cooperation is of utmost importance in standing for fair and clean sport and effectively combating the use of doping," Saar said according to spokespeople.

The ministers also talked about the future of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Among other things, Banka introduced the program of his bid for the position of the president of WADA.

The parties found that it is important in the next few years to restore the credibility of WADA in the eyes of all stakeholders and  partners to ensure a level playing field for athletes.
