Bergs wins bronze in shot put at Rio Paralympics

RIO DE JANEIRO - Latvia's Edgars Bergs scored bronze in men's shot put at the Rio Paralympics on Monday, earning Latvia its third medal at the Games. Competing in the F35 final, Bergs' best result was 14.55 metres. China’s Xinhan Fu brought home the gold medal with a 15.19-metre throw, while Hernan Emanuel Urra of Argentina won silver with a score of 14.91 metres. This is Bergs’ fourth Paralympic medal.
