US Vice President Joe Biden and the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia agreed in Riga on Tuesday, Aug. 23 to commit to deeper and more intense co-operation between the countries in the field of defense amid geopolitical unease. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s recent remarks that the United States might not come to the Baltic States’ aid if they were invaded by Russia “should not be taken seriously,” Joe Biden claimed, emphasising that the United States is ready to ensure the implementation of Article 5 of the Washington Treaty if needed....
