Incandescent, vital, and tonally warm is the voice of tenor Aleksandrs Antonenko which has flared up in many places around the world. Since 2004, he has become the most internationally recognised Latvian tenor and has had successful debuts in Dusseldorf, Berlin and Graz Operas, Semperoper Dresden, Oslo and Stockholm Royal Opera Theatres, Geneva, Paris, Rome and Munich Opera Houses, Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, and Metropolitan Opera House in New York, where Antonenko will sing Otello in the new season opener this September. He has received the Latvian Grand Music Award, the prestigious Jussi Bjorling award voted by Royal Swedish Opera artists, and in 2014, he was awarded the Excellence Award, bestowed by Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia for excellent achievements in culture on international scale.
