Antanas Guoga to give up businesses in Lithuania

Lithuanian MEP Antanas Guoga who has been appointed as acting leader of the Lithuanian Liberal Movement party, announced on May 16 that he will give up the businesses he owns in Lithuania.

"The developments of the past days have led me to take the steps I have been preparing for,” Guoga wrote on his Facebook wall. I will give up the businesses I have in Lithuania as soon as possible.”

Guoga was appointed acting chairman of the Liberal Movement after Eligijus Masiulis stepped down last week in the wake of bribery suspicions.

The Liberal Movement's board has decided to hold an extraordinary congress on June 11 to elect a new leader.
