Last weekend 14 people attempted to enter Latvia illegally by crossing the border with Russia, the State Border Guard said.
On June 3 Latvian border guards detained four citizens of India who had crossed the border illegally. On June 4, six Vietnamese and a Russian citizen accompanying them were caught for the same offense. On the night of June 5 to June 6, three women were detained for illegal border crossing. Two of the women claimed to be citizens of India and the third one said she was from Nepal.
